The Other

Sunsign was read, characters defined

in no time, you were an open book

present explained and future predicted

your story was there for everyone to look

False ego... you were told

justification did not work

even tried to end the discussion

but could not hide that smirk

Took some pride

wanted more

got an ego boost

to the core

That long straight road

needle touched 100 miles

windows down, head out

no rule, no code

You feel the rush of air

motor running, gas burning

hint of smoke, hear the last roar

doesnt matter, you want more

Middle of the highway

trees and clouds, birds in a fight

you thank for just one thing

there is no man in sight

Fresh snow on that far off mountain

you reach out, no avail

as human as you are

caught up in trivial trail

Sun is up, are you enlightened?

or petty things still on your mind?

one thing worth searching for,

Higher Truth, for you to find.

If not, then go back to yourself

there's ‘The Other’ in all of us

that second half of yours is trembling

to get out of the ruckus

when it takes over, you are not real

and that’s exactly what you want to feel

It got you here

treasure? money? nothing that it wants

surrender your ego, follow the lead, delve

in the words of Paulo Coelho

When you stop being you, you find your real self!

dude! awesome one !
i could late relate the character Heath " Joker" Ledger in Dark Night movie for the first part of ur poem 'till the needle toched 100 miles.." ... just read it again with tht scene in mind when he takes his head out while his car is zooming ahead...

the 2nd part frm there on, i could find the 2-face character taking over and as good a movie i rate Dark Night as.. this poem could pretty much convey what the movie tried to.

bhai u rock!! Connect with your other self

Cheers,
Santhosh
