THE QUIET BURIAL

THE QUIET BURIAL

Fear of loss, of failure, of felony

Of past that made you weak within

But ‘coz you fear to pen down your thoughts

You just committed the 7th sin

Create; you build the dream you saw

But none was wiser to judge your thoughts

‘coz none was wiser to share the feel

‘coz none was there for you to heal

Inflicted wound, in your mind

The dream was not for the world to see

The 6th sin committed, you possessed your thought

Fear to come out in open but flee

As Frost declared in his epic

“The road less travelled” was what he claimed

You believe you did the same

But a few hundreds on the way, you blamed

Your trust in self is worth a penny

‘What if!’ rules your mind in pain

5th sin on the brink, up and heady

‘coz the grass you chose, rotten or green

You judged yourself as wrong already

Three, the number, mysterious of all

As much as you want, mortal you are

Three sins already, unforgiving world

From tomorrow, you pledge, to end all hate

But world has plans, as one said

Tomorrow never comes till it’s too late

That moment in life

Life becomes surreal

The world comes to honour, to smirk in pride

The honour is in relief, that it is for real

The honour is in witnessing, The Quiet Burial
